What we work on

Flow Hockey offers elite training at an affordable cost right here in Southern Manitoba. We strive to help develop kids who are eager to improve and willing to work hard. Our programs mirror junior and pro development systems, focusing on skating and skills at game speed. Over 10 on-ice sessions across two weeks, this camp is designed to help players master essential skating techniques and improve puck skills in an engaging and progressive environment. Our program focuses on core skating fundamentals, including the forward stride, V-starts, glide turns, forward and backward crossovers, backward strides, and the backward arc start. Players will develop proper mechanics through step-by-step instruction, ensuring a strong foundation for future growth.

Fine-Tune Your Skills Before Tryouts With Our 5 Day Scrimmage Series!
Get ready for the upcoming season with our Scrimmage Series, designed to help players sharpen their timing, passing, movement, and reading and reacting skills in real-game scenarios. These scrimmages provide a valuable opportunity to practice under game conditions, ensuring you're prepared to excel at your tryouts.

Each scrimmage will feature: Teams composed of 9 forwards, 6 defensemen, and 2 goalies for balanced and competitive play.90-minute games, including a 10-minute flood to maintain ice quality. Officiating by a referee, with a coach on each bench to guide and monitor players.

The games allow same-direction body contact and rubbing out along the boards, but open-ice hitting and full-body contact are not permitted. Players should be aware that, as with any hockey game, there is an inherent risk of injury, which must be accepted prior to registration.This series is open to players looking to elevate their game, with HPP players already registered through the program.

Each 75-minute session is action-packed, starting with full-ice stickhandling drills to build puck control and agility. Flow Hockey is led by founder Ty Lewis, who spent parts of three seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings in the WHL. After a 100-point season in his 19-year-old season, he signed a three-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL. Ty is now a Hockey Canada-trained skills coach and has been running hockey development sessions for the past 10 years. He recently spent time working with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League as one of their Skills Coaches.

With experience working and coaching players of all ages, Ty is a valuable asset to our company. Along with skills coaching, Ty has also helped coach the U15 AAA Wheat Kings to back-to-back provincial titles, both of which were the first in Brandon's history. With his past experience playing hockey at the highest level, he understands what it takes to get there. This, along with his experience in skills coaching and his credentials, makes him a great choice for any child's development in the world of hockey.

LEAD iNSTRUCTOR

Chris is a previous USA Certified Skills coach who has been with Flow Hockey Development since early 2023. Growing up in Brandon, MB, Chris played five seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Brandon Wheat Kings, Red Deer Rebels, and Regina Pats. Following his WHL career, Chris played eight years of professional hockey in North America. After his playing career, Chris went on to head coach both the Southwest Cougars and Brandon Wheat Kings in the Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League. Flow Hockey is proud to have Chris as part of our coaching team.
